physical therapy, pelvic health & pilates in Durango, CO

Rupal Patel, DPT, physical therapist and founder of Bodywise Durango Colorado.

Hi, I’m Rupal

I'm a physical therapist (DPT), behavioral scientist (PhD), and the founder of Bodywise. With over 15 years of experience in orthopedic and pelvic health PT, my practice integrates Pilates-based rehabilitation, motivational interviewing, and the science of how people actually change. I believe your body is more connected than most care models acknowledge, and that real, lasting change happens when we treat it that way.

I live and practice in Durango, Colorado, where the mountains remind me daily why movement matters.

Orthopedic PT

Evidence-based evaluation and treatment for pain and movement limitations, with a focus on understanding the whole person and not just the injury.

Your body doesn't work in parts. Pain in your hip connects to how your core engages. How your core engages connects to your pelvic floor. Your pelvic floor connects to how you breathe, how you move, and how you feel in your body every day. Most care treats these things separately. We don't.

At Bodywise, physical therapy and Pilates aren't two different services, they're one integrated approach. We use the precision of Pilates-based movement and the science of behavioral change to help you understand your body differently, move it more effectively, and build habits that last beyond your time in the clinic.

Care here is evidence-based, whole-person, and genuinely collaborative. You won't be handed a sheet of exercises and sent home. You'll leave each session with a clearer sense of what your body is doing, why and what's possible when it works as one.

The Bodywise Approach

  • "Rupal has a fundamental understanding of the human body...I highly recommend you invest in yourself and book an appointment with her"

    —Esteban

  • "I've been seeing Rupal almost every other week for about 3.5 months and couldn't be happier with the results. I've had ongoing, significant pain and discomfort with my shoulder, neck and back for over 3 years. I had been to 4 other PT's, tried Airrosti, tried dry needling, got massages - nothing has been nearly as helpful as my time with Rupal."

    —Sarah

  • "This is NOT the typical PT clinic where the therapist teaches you some exercises and sends you home with a home care program and the hope that you will feel better soon. Rupal is without doubt, one of the most loving, caring and amazing therapists you will find in Austin, and from my perspective, a gifted practitioner."

    —Daniela

  • "Rupal is kind, considerate, patient and very competent. She is the best and there is no price tag on being able to live the life you strive for."
