Hello, I’m Rupal

Researcher · Physical Therapist · Mom · Mountain Lover · PT, DPT, PhD

I believe that how your body moves shapes everything — how you feel, how you function, and how you show up in your life. That belief is what Bodywise is built on.

I'm a physical therapist and behavioral scientist with over 15 years of clinical experience in orthopedic and pelvic health PT. My work sits at the intersection of movement science and behavior change — because in my experience, the most important question in physical therapy isn't just what's wrong with your body, but what it will take for you to actually change. I've spent my career studying that question, and building care models that answer it. If you're curious about the research behind this approach, you can find some of my published work here.

I trained at the University of Miami for my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and the University of Texas at Austin for my PhD in Health Behavior and Health Education. For over a decade I ran a Pilates-based physical therapy practice in Austin — where I also met my husband and started my family. My clinical training includes the APTA Pelvic Health Series, Polestar Pilates rehabilitation, myofascial release, manual therapy, and dry needling.

Fun fact: I was once interviewed on NPR's Here and Now about my work. [Listen here.]

A few years ago my family and I moved to Durango, Colorado — fulfilling a dream I'd held for a long time. The mountains here remind me daily why movement matters. When I'm not in the clinic you'll find me on a bike, on a trail, on skis, or on a rock face somewhere.

Bodywise is my effort to build something I always wanted to find as a patient: care that takes you seriously, treats your whole body, and actually helps you change.

I’d like to hear from you
